Weightless

iScriblr_poem

Baring it out for all to see,
She was an open booklet,
With a life so uncomplicated and free,
She seemed like a "picture-perfect" portrait,

With no mysteries and no dark secrets to hide,
She breezed her way through a satisfied life,
Riding with presence and poise the continuous animate tides,
She lived, she persisted, she thrived,

Fighting her battles and inner demons,
She'd discovered a whole new identity,
She'd risen to believe in Gods and Heavens,
She progressed, trusting in humanity and generosity,

Her story is stirring - of introspection, rumination and valor,
Breaking free of infinite ciphers, she emerged as a SURVIVOR!

This post is written in response to OctPoWriMo Challenge – where you’ll write a “POEM” everyday for 31 days, using the prompt word. Follow this link to learn more about it, see other submissions, and to share your own. Come and join in the fun folks!

DAY 29 prompt is – LIGHTNESS OF BEING.

Existence without weightiness may seem flimsy, without a lack of ultimate meaning in life but sometimes it is important to just live in the moment without worrying about the consequences. I can see some of you shaking your head in disagreement. Wonderful!! It would be so boring if we all agreed on everything.
So, what does lightness of being mean to you? A stress free, guilt free life or an ethical, by the rule book life or is it the same for you? Does being light literally means shedding all those extra kilos/pounds? Or shedding fears, guilt, shame and disappointments? What’s your take on the prompt?

Poetry Form – SONNET.

Keeping in mind the “festivities” that are over burdening my creativity – here’s my “adapted” version of a Sonnet. Even though I’ve taken care of the 14 line pattern and the a,b,a,b,c,d,c,d,e,f,e,f,g,g rhyming blueprint, my syllable count is a little off track. Ah, when life happens and you have so much to do in such a little time, you gotta do what you gotta do!

  1. I agree, too much anxiety is created by the unknown future then the sadness creeps up when you are thinking about the past. The Now is all we have, so it’s best to cheer up. xx
