When Disappointment Strikes

iScriblr_love

With tears in my eyes and an ache within my soul,
The misery that I have refuses to let go,
My "laughter" is dead, perished are my dreams,
How do I survive? I nailed no means!

My fantasies lay submerged, in the deep, dark sea,
I am at my bottom-worst, "Let me be!"
Saving me will only heave you to the Satan's abode,
Let me depart, it's best for all that I go!

I attempted, but all I could accomplish was a catastrophe,
May be I am cursed or have some abnormality,
Are there more like me, disappointed-dismayed?
To Almighty I ask, "Why was I made?"

It's time now, for me to say my goodbyes,
Deliverance unquestionably is a far cry,
With crippled ambitions and strained consciousness,
My life is nothing bounteous than a dreadful mess!

DAY 18 prompt is – FIRST TIME YOU WERE DISAPPOINTED.

Do you remember your first disappointment? Was it in school? Was it about grades or when mom was late to pick you up? Was it in high school when you were spurned by your first love? Or when you couldn’t pursue a course of your choice, were not selected for the school team, first job, failed relationships…it could be anything. Maybe you are disappointed right now with the course your life has taken.

How do you deal with disappointment?  Do you let despondency shroud you or do you bounce back with renewed vigor. There is no right way or wrong way to deal with disappointments that pepper our life. But to give up, in my humble opinion, would be to give up on life!

Poetry Form – FREE VERSE.

Going a  little “melancholy” about it today – One of those days I guess!
