What Doors Will You Open Today?

iScriblr_openDoors

Hey Everyone! How you doin’?

It’s time to kill the blues with some Real Talk and MOTIVATION!

Let me ask you all a question? When opportunities come knocking, are you ready to receive them with a smile? Or are you one of the kinds who makes endless excuses, their validity always a question?

“Sorry, I can’t do it right now”
“Maybe, tomorrow?”
“I have something else to do.”
“I wish, but I can’t.”
“No, I am not in the mood right now.”

We all are guilty of passing out on an opportunity in our lifetimes – sometimes, because we genuinely meant the above and most of the times just because we weren’t familiar with the level of comfort that the task offered! Undoubtedly, it is always easy to sit alone, in an habitual space, with a fool-proof level of comfort. Who minds that?
But do you realize – that every small decision (that you make right now) affects the next decision you get to make (in future)?
May be, had you said “yes” then, you would have found out about a new job opening at your work-place, or may be you could have created memories that you would have cherished for ever, or may be you would have got that break you’ve been waiting for all your life? May be? May be not? Now, we’ll never know just because we weren’t READY then!

GOOD NEWS

Now let me say this – What if you found out there was a key that would enable you to open and close your doors of “possibility” at will? What if you found out that you not only held the key, but YOU actually were the key? Would you unlock the doors, or keep them shut?
Well my friends,  you ARE the key, and whether or not you choose to enter through the doors is a choice that, although obscure, is absolutely life changing.

“The door to the soul is unlocked; you do not need to please the doorkeeper, the door in front of you is yours, intended for you, and the doorkeeper obeys when spoken to.”
Robert Bly

Anybody can achieve anything – I unconditionally believe that and those who succeed are usually the ones who walk through the door of opportunity when it swings open. So, what is the secret to getting through the door of opportunity?
Answer – Being outside the door when it swings open!

“She knocked and waited, because when the door was opened from within, it had the potential to lead someplace quite different.”
― Laini TaylorDaughter of Smoke & Bone

You see, you never know when the door of opportunity is going to open wide. For some, the big break comes early in life and for others later on. But for all of those who become successful, there is one key connection – THEY WERE READY! And for every one of those who were ready, there were thousands more who weren’t.

So, the law for us is to be ready for the doors of attainment to flung open anytime! Do everything in your might so that you can, to be ready when the opportunity strikes. Don’t just sit, wish and dream. Be proactive and make sure that you are the most qualified and equipped when the door opens. Believe that the power to “betterment” is in your hands and all you have to do is act on it!

Please also remember that we don’t have to do everything and anything possible and over indulge and overrate the act of being “ready” , which is actually impossible to do! But what we can surely choose is to open doors more often than we close them. We can choose to be an operating part of the world more often than just sitting on the outside as a mere observer.

Remember, you are as ripe today as you’re ever going to be, and with that understanding comes an enabling choice – you can either overcome your circumstances or you can let circumstances vanquish you. Believe that you can, and you will!

“For the cowards, all doors are locked; for the daring, all doors are open!”

Here’s to opening new doors! Cheers!

  1. What a superbly written inspiring post Richa! I loved reading about opening the door within and us being the key!

    1. I absolutely agree with you! It’s all about “opening the doors” with the key that’s YOU!🙋
Thank you so much for stopping by!❤️

  2. The more the effort grows, the more we consider the greatness of what has been undertaken. Your desire to be better every moment will make every day advance a little more until achieving all objectives. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit. Life is a carnival and even bitterness and loneliness take off their hats in one of recognition and respect. Congratulations as always for this incredible blog.

Greetings and many hugs from your friend Samuel Parra. PS I invite you to visit my last post titled MENTAL FAT: MY WAR ON OBESITY

  3. Thanks, needed the pep talk after a day that started with me feeling small – deservedly so after an error was pointed out. But “That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.” Friedrich Nietzsche.

    1. Aww.. Here’s to hoping that you have a wonderful rest of the week!❤

Thanks for stopping by, appreciate your kindness! 🙂

  4. I totally agree with you. In fact I sometimes have taken things for granted. I know I shouldn’t do that. I needed this thank you 🤗. Very well written 😃

    1. Happens to the best of us! The idea is to get up, get going and never say never!

Thanks for stopping by, appreciate your kindness!❤

  5. Love these quotes! I’m a big believer in shaking things up and making things happen. I used to be more of let me play it safe, but I’ve learned through experience, nothing happens if you always play it safe (then you have no right to complain).

  6. Great inspirational post 🙂 but for me it is depends on the opportunity. If it is a cool one – Id say ‘welcome, take a seat’…if a boring one – I’d say ‘Can’t because I’m busy doing absolutely Nothing’

      1. Oh sorry Richa it’s the result of copy and paste I forgot to change the name.. Glad you didn’t notice that..🙄

  7. Good pep talk. It is important to be open to opportunities — they happen much more frequently than most people see.

  8. This is an excellent post Richa and something l have often asked myself on a daily basis. When l was younger l took many risks that were guised under ‘opportunity’ and l looked at myself as being not just the key, but the key to… this, that, and sometimes instrumental to keys opening. As l got older and experience and wisdom stepped on board you find yourself hesitating more, not reticent but you stand on the edge of the doorframe debating whether you will or whether you should.

Ultimately it comes down to believing in yourself and your abilities.

    Once more, great post. Rory

  9. So true Rory and I really-really wonder as to why do we lose that spark with time/age?

I agree – “Ultimately it comes down to believing in yourself and your abilities.” – Yes, it’s all about trusting yourself.
Plus i feel that even if the opportunity wasn’t right, at least we’ve learnt a “lesson” or two, or may be gained some experience out of it – no effort goes to waste.

    Thanks for stopping by!❤

  10. “But what we can surely choose is to open doors more often than we close them. We can choose to be an operating part of the world more often than just sitting on the outside as a mere observer.” Well said!

  11. Loved this inspirational post and all the motivating quotes. It’s so true we are the keys ourselves. It easy not to pursue opportunities by sighting all the hurdles on the way and doing nothing about it!

    1. You are so right! The idea is to get up and get going and stop giving excuses to yourself!

Thank you so much for sopping by!❤️❤️

  12. I love the concept of how each choice both opens and closes doors. Each choice takes one fork in the road while another is abandoned. And we don’t know, honestly, if a choice is a good one or bad one until we arrive at the end of our lives, at the end of the long road of thousands of minute choices. A terrible marriage (a bad choice) might result in a beautiful child, a divorce, and a wonderful second marriage (a great outcome). So, I think the key lies in our intention, our honesty with ourselves, and our desire to live actively (versus passively) – without regrets as much as possible. Great post!

    1. I so agree with you! What matters is “where” you want to take yourself to and “to make” voluntary decisions for the same!

Thank you so much for taking out the time to read! I so appreciate it!❤️❤️
