Weekly Photo Challenge : All-Time Favorites

This week, sadly, we say goodbye to the Weekly Photo Challenge by WordPress! (Sad but true!) From December 2nd, 2017 till today – some wonderful memories, a handful of fabulous photos and a chance of meeting umpteen “talented” bloggers from around the world – this ride has been more than fun! Presenting to you all, some of my “ALL-TIME FAVORITES” from the WPC Challenge!

“I thought I was stronger than a word, but I just discovered that having to say goodbye to you is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”

My first ever post for WPC! (Dated – Dec 2nd, 2017 ) Clicked at the Mississippi River Park, Memphis – this photo speaks a thousand words. It is fascinating to notice the colors, patterns and the characteristic blueprints of Mother Nature. The dramatization of the skies, calmness of the Mississippi river and the vastness of the magnificent world that we live in, makes us so microscopic and meager. Undoubtedly, “nature therapy” is the best way to unwind and unravel the mysteries of trials and tribulations. When the nature “talks” and you “listen” – there is calmness, harmony and contentment. Hail Earth Mother! Hail Gaia!

Clicked a-top The Willis Tower, this photo depicts my understanding of the word “ascend.” Commonly referred to as the Sears Tower, it is a 110-story, 1,450-foot (442.1 m) skyscraper in Chicago. Considered as the second tallest building in the United States and the sixteenth tallest in world, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations.

Clicked  at Pensacola Beach, Florida – this photo is one of my favorite clicks of 2017. It is alluring to acknowledge the serenity of a beach – calm, harmonious and tranquil with every iota in sync, working together in a perfect balance! The magnificent shores, the comprehensive skies and the boundless sea, they all in tandem conceive a shot that is oh! so picturesque! When the sand “talks” and you hear it’s every whisper, there is anticipation of good times and better days!

Clicked on my trip to a small town called Bhangarh (in India), this photo speaks a thousand words about being “WEATHERED!” Famous for its historical ruins, and considered to be one of India’s many haunted locations – Bhangarh (established in 1573) is an embodiment of age-long history and yesteryear. Once a town alive with people like you and me, it is now a land of relics, reminding us of an era of princely states and regal existence. From grand courtyards, abundant riches and effusive lifestyle to a wreckage that’s long forgotten, this town sermonizes the imprint of “time and tide!” From witnessing the past to now becoming a “historical site” – Bhangarh with its legends of the antiquity, has for sure weathered!

Clicked at the Mississippi River Park, Memphis – these photos speak a thousand words. It is enchanting to notice the insignia and varied configuration of the “gold” sprinkled skies. Indeed, a picture perfect moment, seizing the calmness of the vast Mississippi river and the dramatization of the clouds, dancing with the sun rays in the background – perfectly synced, completely mortised! When your uninvolved “evening walk” turns into a picturesque “time travel” to a place with no walls, distaste, anxieties and apprehensions ; when you get more than you ask for ; when life is just a “matter of view” – it is a sight to “lo and behold!”
iScriblr_beach
Clicked on my trip to Pensacola Beach, Florida – these pictures are a perfect illustration of what my “favorite place” looks like! Ah, beach life! Sunny beaches, subdued sands, placid waters, some beauteous beach-wear, flashing flip-flops, oodles of sun-tan lotion, beach umbrellas and chairs – add up to a perfect concoction for endless opportunities of solitude and relaxation. With miles of unobstructed views and access to the Gulf, a “beach break” is a perfect example of what “getaways” look and feel like! Breaking away from the towering buildings, maddening gridlock and oh! so harried lives – a “beach” is where I find my solace, a “beach” is where I rejuvenate! Of the calm seas, offshore breeze and placatory ecosystem, where everything seems to be in perfect sync, a visit to a “beach” is your flawless “snooze button” that cannot go wrong! When the world gets too much to handle, when the tasks get too burdensome, when you body carves for some appreciation – “Beach Therapy” is what works, and it works the BEST!
iScriblr_sweet
Clicked on my trip to San Francisco, at the famed San Francisco Chocolate Store – these photos for me are a perfect illustration of “SWEET!” When “sweet tooth” runs in the family, a visit to a chocolate store is inevitable, no matter which city you visit and how swamped with work you are! Monochrome candies, delicious chocolates, toothsome gummy bears, freshly made tasteful fudge, delectable candy apples, gourmet cookies, chocolate covered fruits and nuts, Ghirardelli Chocolates, mouth-watering home-made ice cream, florid jelly bellies – Yes, everything SWEET that you can imagine is get-able at this fascinating store. Dentist and waist-approved, The SF Chocolate Factory is every chocolate connoisseur’s glamorous sanctuary. Known for using only the finest quality cocoa beans, gathered and imported from three different continents and selected for consistently superior flavor, this joint is a perfect place to pick up “sweet-chocolate souvenirs” to take back home. When the joy of eating something sweet fictionalizes the blues and the gloom, its SWEET surrender!

Clicked on my trip to Chattanooga at the famous Rock City! Located atop Lookout Mountain, just 6 miles from downtown Chattanooga, Rock City is a true marvel of nature featuring massive ancient rock formations, gardens with over 400 native plant species and breathtaking “See 7 States” panoramic views. Located at 1700 feet above sea level, with a 100-foot waterfall that cascades down the mountain, Lover’s Leap, and the famous Swing-A-Long bridge that spans nearly 200 feet, a visit to Rock City is both entertaining and exciting. It is a self guided tour, that gives you a birds-eye view from high atop Lookout Mountain. The trail also leads through a variety of unique and bizarre rock formations, including the 1,000 short tons (910t) Balanced Rock and Fat Man’s Squeeze to name a few.
iScriblr_tulips
Clicked on my recent trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, these pictures are a perfect illustration of “Awakening!” Braving the long, chilly winters and withstanding the calamities of Mother Nature, every year these “tulips” arise from the dust to create a magical spectacle worth reminiscing! From shriveled, scorched “bulbs” to multi-hued, kaleidoscopic and vibrant array of “florets”, from “nothing” to simply “exquisite” – this is the journey that demonstrates determination, fearlessness and perseverance. Yes, a voyage called life! When life is more about braving the adversities and still managing to out-class; when it is the grit and determination to endure; when every-time a flower blooms in the spring – it is a manifestation of renewal, a proof of “awakening!”

Here we go folks – a walk down my “memory lane!” My WPC – ALL-TIME FAVORITES!

Love,
