Hey Everyone! HAPPY FRIYAY!

Welcome to my second episode of The Valentine’s for Luvvies Challenge 2019 – which is being run by Rory at A Guy Called Bloke and Doodlepip’s Adventures. YESS.. A perfect way to get over the Valentine blues!

PS – Yet again, I’m collating all three together for easy readability! *rebel alert*

Let’s get the fun started –

1 Who produced the first box of chocolates for this holiday?

Richard Cadbury, son of Cadbury, created ‘fancy’ boxes of chocolates to increase sales. It was in 1861 that he created the first heart-shaped box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day, using  drawings of his family and Alpine scenes to decorate them.

2 The earliest surviving Valentine’s Day message is from which century?

While there’s some debate about who first sent a V-Day missive, some sources say the down-and-out Saint Valentine himself actually sent the first valentine. Enamored with his jailor’s daughter, Valentine sent her a letter before his execution. Also, since I like to divulge (extra) details – The British Library in London holds the oldest known surviving valentine, a poem composed in French in 1415 by Charles Duke of Orleans to his wife, which he sent while imprisoned in the Tower of London. So yes, 15th Century!

3 The red rose was the favorite flower of Venus?

Yes Sir! It was!

4 Write a story, tale or poem about a day in the life of cupid.

Well.. My “cupid” will be one of the “naughty” kinds! He’ll probably be “love drunk” and high as a kite! *wink wink*

“Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy,
Grab my glasses, I’m out the door; I’m gonna hit this city (Let’s go!)
Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack,
‘Cause when I leave for the night, I ain’t coming back!”

5 Roughly how many heart-shaped boxes of chocolate are given every year?

36 Million! Can you believe it!!!! (And then we talk about obesity and over weight partners!)

6 Which country has banned Valentine’s Day?

Malaysia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Indonesia.

7 In South Korea Valentine’s Day starts on 14th Feb and lasts until 14th April

False! Valentine’s Day in Korea is a bit different from Valentine’s Day elsewhere in world. In fact, Valentine’s Day is one of 12 “love days” celebrated on the 14th of every month in Korea. These days range from the popular (White Day) or depressing (Black Day), to the bizarre (Hug Day) and everything in between.

8 Using any of the following words create a story, tale or poem about Chocolate – 3 Wishes, Dream Time, Bear Hug, Sunshine, Cynical, Dating, Cooking, Missing You Already or Love Sucks!

An appetizing “haiku” for my chocolate-love!

Deliciously dark,
Seductively heavenly,
Sunshine soaked candies!

9 Love Story/Poem Challenge Prompt – The River Cruise by Candlelight, The Secret Castle Meeting, The Romantic Haunting or Love Basically Sucks!

A “free verse” to seize my free soul!

When death takes a human form,
To live and to love,
Repercussions a many happen,
Ramifications in thousands unfold.

A chain reaction fracturing souls,
Where promises are broken,
Dreams are crumbled,
Where mortals lack passion.

When death yearns to survive,
In the eyes of his beloved,
Is it “The Romantic Haunting”
Or did, as always – the love go wasted?
