The Good Kind Of Hate

Hey Everyone! I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend!

Let’s kill the “Monday Blues” with some Real Talk!
PS – I hope this post still qualifies as “Monday Motivation” – even though it’s 8:30 pm where I’m at and Monday’s almost over!  I apologize, things have been really busy at this side of the world, with multiple “high-priority” issues piling up every second! Hopefully the will in me will survive this “test” too! *fingers crossed*

For our MONDAY MOTIVATION special – I’m sharing with y’all a quote by Olive Moore aka Constance Vaughan on the “right” kind of HATRED to possess. That’s right, you heard it! The RIGHT KINDA HATRED!

iScriblr_hatred

Ah, such simple words, with an invaluable lesson for life!

Often times we tend to waste our hatred on insignificant insults and disparities. Difference in opinion, conflicting sentiments or contradictory school of thoughts – these are all “catalysts” aiding and adding to our levels of hatred towards a person, faith or belief. Sadly, it’s easier to judge and despise someone than actually taking out the time to “identify” the cause and “fix” the aberration! Well, in all honesty who has the time for that? Specially when “reaching a decision” and “contemning” someone/something is “selfishly” more fleece-able and more un-challenging than actually “fighting” for a moral cause. *bitter truth*

“Sensitive people usually love deeply and hate deeply. They don’t know any other way to live than by extremes because their emotional thermostat is broken.”
― Shannon L. Alder

Well, my fam, have you ever wondered though – that if you exercise the same kind of “hate” towards social injustice, discrimination or unfairness – what greatness and “understanding” could this world achieve? Have you ever realized that when you “channelize” your resentment towards “social evils” rather than fighting over “nugatory” issues, what “positive” difference would it make to the society? Have you ever questioned the kind of hate you in-hold in your heart and mind?

“I have one problem, I don’t hate people. They disgust me and I want to get away from them. I do not have hatred. I have an escape mechanism.”
― Charles Bukowski

In all truthfulness (and to avoid any confusion) – I am not advocating hate, neither am I endorsing animosity! If I could have my way in this world (or with God) – HATRED is what I would rid this world off! All I am saying (and all that I have understood from this quote) is that we can “siphon” our resentment and hate towards significant determinants and movements.
Hate animal cruelty if you have to hate something! Detest the pedophiles and sex predators! Object to discrimination and injustice! Be disgusted with poverty! Disfavor war! Fight for education for all! Look down upon pollution!
Remember, the power and greatness of “hating” depends on the “selflessness” of its use and “thoughtfulness” of your actions. USE IT WELL!

Here’s to us being better HUMANS and HATING the right kind of things!

Love,

  1. Ooo an interesting one, Richa, and I’d agree. There is a place for anger and hatred, towards the right things. If harnessed well, it can be a springboard for change!
Sounds like you’ve got a lot of stuff going on right now… deep breath, you’ll be all good. I hope everything is going okay! 🙂

  2. Very true and very timely. If I can think of any other emotion that can be as soul-draining as hate, it would be envy, though that’s probably less dangerous externally.

  3. Very rightly said , using it constructively and channelizing it rightly is the best solution. Hope things settle down at your end ..Have a wonderful rest of the week!

  4. That was an awesome read! I’m a sensitive person and can have extremes of emotions! I work best when I stop to consider where a person is coming from before I take something personally! Like you said – identify the cause! Great advice, Richa! Just imagine what we could accomplish if we used our hate well! Thank you!

  5. One only hopes that everyone eventually leads to the understanding expressed in the quote. It would make for a better world. But alas, not everyone reaches that understanding as they get older 😔

  6. I like you more after reading this post,Richa🤗

You have put forward a post that holds so true for today’s time.
    Loved reading it!
And thank you for taking out time and posting it inspite of your busy schedule ❤

    1. Aww.. How kind Yasmin! I like you too! 😉

Thank you so much for stopping by and thank you for being so supportive, always!🙏

  7. Indeed. Hatred can be a fungus that destroys society. The lack of compassion in a community leads to feelings of exclusion and if groups feel shunned, certain individuals might seek radicalism in order to feed their need for belonging. Ironically, I do hope recent events in NZ and elsewhere are a catalyst for us to be more inclusive of others – quite the opposite of what the gunman was trying to achieve.

    1. I’m so glad that you reckon.. Thank you so much for taking the time out to read!🙏

“I think that hate is a feeling that can only exist where there is no understanding.”
      ― Tennessee Williams

  8. Incredibly well said love. Very well said. I grew up with hate being the next bad 4 letter word right after f- rhymes with luck. Those two words would get a mouth washed out with soap faster than you said it. So whenever hate is directed at someone I cringe because it takes so much for one to hate something. I can’t stand it if someone is mad at me imagine what it’s like if someone hated me. Ugh. That would be like hell itself. ❤️💕😘

    1. “Love is wise; hatred is foolish. In this world, which is getting more and more closely interconnected, we have to learn to tolerate each other, we have to learn to put up with the fact that some people say things that we don’t like. We can only live together in that way. But if we are to live together, and not die together, we must learn a kind of charity and a kind of tolerance, which is absolutely vital to the continuation of human life on this planet.”
      ― Bertrand Russell

I’m glad that you concur.. Thank you so much for taking the time out to read!🙏
Hahaha.. And yes, I remember being taught – that you may dislike something but NEVER hate! 😉

  9. Hate is a very strong word for me. But I do have a very low tolerance towards obnoxious, rude and self-obsessed people. Like Bukowski, I would say these people disgust me. One again a very deep, insightful and thought-provoking write, dear Richa ❤🤗

    1. Welcome back love! What a pleasant surprise!🤗🤗

PS – I’m totally with you on obnoxious, rude and self-obsessed people! 😉

      1. Thanks, CAS ❤ thank you for remembering me 🥰🤗. As always, your words were exquisite. My creative block seems to be stretching further and further, and it is making me anxious.

    1. Glad that you reckon.. It’s surprising how differently different perspectives are (can be!)

      Appreciate you stopping by!❤️
