MY QUOTE FOR DAY 3

“When I had nothing to lose, I had everything. When I stopped being who I am, I found myself.”

– Eleven Minutes

ABOUT THE BOOK

Eleven Minutes (Portuguese: Onze Minutos) is a 2003 novel by Brazilian novelist Paulo Coelho that recounts the experiences of a young Brazilian prostitute and her journey to self-realization through sexual experience. This book explores the sacred nature of sex, sex which is mingled with true love and which involves the giving up of one’s soul for the loved one. Eleven Minutes departs somewhat from the Coelho formula. He apologies to his devoted readers in a chatty foreword. This is a novel, we are warned, that will deal with “a subject that is harsh, difficult, shocking” : the international crime of “people trafficking”.

MY TAKE ON THE QUOTE

When you stop fitting the mold and allow yourself to truly be you, that is when you discover yourself. Seemingly contradictory but TRUE all the way. Such is the beauty and mystery of LIFE created by the “SUPREME BEING!” Breaking away from the “self-imposed” shackles, fleeing from your inhibitions and escaping towards contemplation and some soul-searching – YOU discover YOURSELF!!
