What Do You Want?

iScriblr_trust

Asking me to stay and then pushing me away,
What do you want?
You say that you love me and then you cry about space,
What do you want?
Wanting me to touch you and then blaming me for overwhelming your heart,
What do you want?
Begging me for intimacy and then charging me with paternalism,
What do you want?
Better make up your mind as I no more can these charades endure,
What do you want?

This post is written in response to OctPoWriMo Challenge – where you’ll write a “POEM” everyday for 31 days, using the prompt word. Follow this link to learn more about it, see other submissions, and to share your own. Come and join in the fun folks!

Day 19 word prompt is “WHAT DO YOU WANT!”

Suggested Form – Chant Poem.

Yet again, my first attempt! The chant poem is about as old as poetry itself. In fact, it may be the first form poetry took. Chant poems simply incorporate repetitive lines that form a sort of chant. Each line can repeat, or every other line. It’s easy to find many poetic forms that incorporate chanting with the use of a refrain. However, a chant poem is a little more methodical than a triolet or a rondeau.

As always any feedback and advise is more than appreciated!

In all honesty, this challenge has been really challenging for me, since (lets face it) I am not a poetess. But yes, I survive on tests and contradictions and it helps my keep my grey cells sane. 😉
