“It’s useful to go out of this world and see it from the perspective of another one.”
-Terry Pratchett
ABOUT THE PHOTO
Clicked by Nexus 6P phone (and edited by Snapseed App), on my flight from India to the US of the majestic “Hindu Kush” Mountain Range, this photo characterizes “Out of This World” to me!
Grandiose, marvelous, mind-blowing – The Hindu Kush divides the valley of the Amu Darya (the ancient Oxus) to the north from the Indus River valley to the south. The Hindu Kush range has numerous high snow-capped peaks, with the highest point in the Hindu Kush being Tirich Mir or Terichmir at 7,708 metres (25,289 ft) in the Chitral District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. To the north, near its northeastern end, the Hindu Kush buttresses the Pamir Mountains near the point where the borders of China, Pakistan and Afghanistan meet, after which it runs southwest through Pakistan and into Afghanistan near their border. Crucial to trade networks, and travelers between Central Asia and South Asia and boasting of ancient Bamiyan Buddhas monasteries, Hindu Kush is more than what meets the eye.
When the cosmos pulverizes, conceiving magnificence, it’s a spectacle from “Out of This World!”
