How often do we find ourselves doing things just because we have to and not because we want to? And yes, I am not talking about the hard work (desperate measures) aimed at achieving success at jobs (work place) or the obvious efforts to provide for your family. Here, I’m referring to the things we do just to please others and to project a certain image of ourselves to the world that isn’t even coherent with who we really are! How often have we worn a “mask” awaiting approval of our family, friends, colleagues or even the neighbor next door? How often have we lied to ourselves and forced ourselves into believing that we are "no good" and OTHERS are better? How often have we lived a "shallow" life, INVISIBLE to the world? Well, I ask - How can you live your best lives, when “best” is defined by someone else? Piercing my mettle, You unsee my true colors, Insensitive much! I'm more than what meets the eye, Why belittle me in vain?

How Will I Know?
My crippled heart is numb, My fractured dreams are shattered, My hapless tears are dry, My overwhelmed soul is battered. Anticipating your nuzzling affliction, On a bed of nails I perpetually wait, Craving your valuing adoration, I cuss and curse my catastrophic fate. Tell me, did I not give in my best? Oh why, oh why, did it not catch your attention yet? How can you "smile" when all I do is speculate? Was it LOVE? Or is it HATE? How will I know?
A Stopwatch Called Love

What Do You Want?
Asking me to stay and then pushing me away, What do you want? You say that you love me and then you cry about space, What do you want? Wanting me to touch you and then blaming me for overwhelming your heart, What do you want? Begging me for intimacy and then charging me with paternalism, What do you want? Better make up your mind as I no more can these charades endure, What do you want?
From Fable To Feeble
Once upon a time there was a girl, Who believed in the transcendental power of love. Counting upon the million mystical galaxies every night, Fanciful fantasies of yearning she wove. Presuming the world to be her safe haven, She embraced and hailed all women and men. Selflessly loving all with a heart so pure, She was in its true sense a fervent Zen. Expecting reciprocation of her feelings, She looked upon every single one with equal fairness. With a soul so beautifully sanctimonious, She was an unmistakable epitome of sunny brightness. Spreading jubilation and laughter everywhere she yode, Her "happy ever after" she did foresee. Consigning to oblivion, unsighted, She forgot, this is all just a figment of her imaginary. This world is no dewy-eyed fairy-tale, And she was not some Cinderella, not even an enchantress. The human race is not what she thinks to be, It is but a congregation of dejection, resentment and bitterness. Melancholy, with a feeble heart she now survives, Baring her beaten soul for everyone to see, Waking up to the brusque reality of life, That girl is you, that girl is me!

Or would you turn your back on and stall? When the world mocks and stares at my misfortunes, Will you take my hands and guide me through this malady? Will you stand by me in all adversities? Saving me from displease that creeps from within, Will you embrace and cradle my broken hopes? Will you take my hands and guide me through this malady? When I stumble and collapse in the battle called life, Will you lift me up and help me soar yet again? Will you embrace and cradle my broken hopes? Will you be my "knight in shining armour" shadowing all my imprudent vulnerabilities? Will you catch me when I fall? Will you lift me up and help me soar yet again? Will you catch me when I fall?
