Hey Everyone! I hope y’all are having a wonderful day! Welcome to the WEEK 19 of “FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION” Challenge! *Happy Thursday*
ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
Every Thursday, I will pick up a “prompt word” to be acted upon by y’all. You are free to go wild with your imagination and interpret the “prompt” in any way that you like – photo, prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, quotes, articles or drawing/painting – whatever works for you!
In short, it’s all about you being the BOSS and choosing the best way possible to express and depict your understanding of the prompt and go berserk!
TOPIC FOR TODAY : MYSTERY/MYSTERIOUS
Famous for its historical ruins, and considered to be one of India’s many “haunted locations” – Bhangarh, India (established in 1573) is an embodiment of age-long history and yesteryear. Once a town alive with people like you and me, it is now a land of relics, reminding us of an era of princely states and regal existence. From grand courtyards, abundant riches and effusive lifestyle to a wreckage that’s long forgotten, this town sermonizes the imprint of “time and tide!”
From witnessing the past, to now becoming a “historical site” – Well, what happened?
Known also as one the greatest unsolved mysteries, Bhangarh is what “cheap thrills” are made of! Venturing into the fort after sunset is nothing short of an act of valor as it is supposedly and “reputedly” the axis of “paranormal activity” and hence, the Archaeological Survey of India has prohibited people from visiting the fortress at night. *spooky*
Of the many Bhangarh stories that the locals like to indulge in, the most popular is that of the Emperor Madho Singh who built the city after attaining the approval of one Guru Balu Nath, an ascetic who’d claimed the rights of the land. The approval was agreed upon the “only” condition that the shadow of the Emperor’s palace should “never” fall on his retreat. If in case it did, the city would crumble into ruins!
Once the construction was completed, the “retreat” of Guru was unfortunately shadowed by the palace. Having incurred the saint’s wrath, Bhangarh immediately metamorphosed into a “cursed city” and could never be rebuilt. It is interesting to note that the tomb of Guru Balu Nath can still be found among the ruins! *mysterious*
Another fascinating story pertains to Princess Ratnavati – who was known far and wide for her beauty and attractiveness. Of all the suitors she (obviously) had, there was a sorcerer named Singhia who decided to allure her with the magical powers he possessed (considering he had neither riches nor fame to offer). However, his attempt of “enchantment” failed, and he died in the process.
Well, before dying, Singhia (the bad-bad magician) cursed the city of Bhangarh to death and as a result, it never witnessed any rebirths and rehabilitation! *ironic much*
While these stories have been condemned by the scientists, nothing stops the villagers from believing that this Fort is indeed a “sanctuary” for ghosts and spirits. From unaccounted noises of women screaming and crying at night, to broken bangles, inexplicable whiff of “special perfume” and ghostly shadows – Bhangarh is more than what meets the eye!
HAUNTED or not, who knows? MYSTERIOUS for sure!
So there you have it folks – my illustration of the word MYSTERY.
Well y’all, what is your take on word MYSTERY? Do you have a MYSTERIOUS story to share? Or is there a MYSTERY that you’ll like to unravel? Hit me up and share!

Glad you like it.. It’s a spooky place to be at! 😉
Thanks love!❤️
I remember this place , two decades back i was there too , its very near near the tiger reserves if i remember , its some where in Alwar province of Rajasthan state , its really haunted and spooky mysterious, there was a board some where i remember its prohibited to enter after sunset before sunrise , i took over few hundred pictures and finally end up losing my two bags in train back to south thus lost my camera, i heard over hundreds of stories about this place, i will remember and write a post some times in the coming holidays, this is a real deadly place and people locally scare tourists in multiple way still a fun to go there if i get a chance i want to visit one more time. Old kings stories old ghost stories rivalry of neighbours haunted houses i wonder why this movie people not hit their luck to shoot one horror movie there 🤠 .
One of the best post from you. You choose a real place to show as mystery. History says life is a mystery to be lived and not a problem to be solved…. where as this place entire life inside this village is abnormal paranormal and hyper curious and the mystery is hidden here and not explore by any one so far.
Memories roll back of this old fort while reading this post and actually i literally forgotten this place, wish i had my camera saved, i must share over 100 pretty pics from there ,,,, may be there will be one more attempt to reach there in summer days .
Cheers and wonderful. Full marks and appreciation to you and this post.
💐✨🙏🍀🌺🌱👌
