"We've got 24 hours before they burn them all down! Hurry up!" announced Sue to a group of new recruits of the "Resistance Army", amidst ramming murmurs and cramming whispers. Their task - To memorize and protect the world's greatest literary and cultural works, before the "firemen" arrive. Alas, year 2069 AD marks an annulment of literature by the "mass media", where the books are outlawed, and any allurement of libraries is extinct!
This post is written in response to Sonya’s Three Line Tales, Week #135 – where you write a “tale” in just 3 lines on the picture provided. Follow this link to learn more about it, see other submissions, and to share your own. Come and join in the fun folks!
PS – The inspiration for this short-story of mine comes from a novel (by the same name) written by Ray Bradbury, published in 1953.

Wonderful imagination!
Thank you so much!❤
I think of 2069, which will be quite a few years after I’m gone, and can only hope for an environment that is far less apocalyptic than a book ban.
Here’s to believing that it won’t end so bad!

I hope so too! 😉
