Hey Everyone! I hope y’all are having a great day!
I have been named yet again for the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Tag! Yay! *happy dance* Thank you so much Himani for tagging me. It’s indeed a pleasure!
FYI – Well this time too this tag comes with a twist folks – I am posting all the three quotes in one post for the three days. Sorry about being such a rebel, I am “shamelessly” still way behind on my tags! *hides face*
On a brighter side today’s quotes come from none other than the “misanthropic” Charles Bukowski – My absolute favorite!
ABOUT CHARLES BUKOWSKI
Henry Charles Bukowski (born Heinrich Karl Bukowski; August 16, 1920 – March 9, 1994) was a German-born American poet, novelist, and short story writer.
His writing was influenced by the social, cultural, and economic ambiance of his home city of Los Angeles. Charles Bukowski was a prolific underground writer who used his poetry and prose to depict the depravity of urban life and the downtrodden in American society. A cult hero, Bukowski relied on experience, emotion, and imagination in his work, using direct language and violent and sexual imagery. While some critics found his style offensive, others claimed that Bukowski satirized the machismo attitude through his routine use of sex, alcohol abuse, and violence.
Bukowski’s short stories and novels are unsparingly realistic and usually comic. They often observe the thoughts and actions of Bukowski’s alter ego Henry Chinaski, a hard-drinking unskilled worker, a lover of classical music, and a gambler on the horses. Collections of his stories include Notes of a Dirty Old Man (1969), taken from his underground newspaper column of that name, Erections, Ejaculations, Exhibitions, and General Tales of Ordinary Madness (1972), and Hot Water Music (1983). His later novels include Post Office (1971), Factotum (1975), and Ham on Rye (1982). Hollywood (1989), also a novel, took as its subject the filming of the 1987 motion picture Barfly, a semi-autobiographical comedy about alcoholic lovers on skid-row for which Bukowski wrote the screenplay (published 1984). His novel Pulp was published posthumously in 1994.

He was a rebel at heart! But sometimes what he said, sure did make sense! 😉
I’m not sure if I had heard of him but I read what you included about him. Sounds like a blunt person, which is fine by me :). I loved the second quote by him too! I’d want death to be afraid of me too lol

Hi again Richa, I didn’t receive your reply by email so I’m here to have a check 😊 No idea why I didn’t get it, I’ve experienced a few problems with WordPress recently. I will pick up one of Bukowski’s books, it might take some time but I will. ❤️
WordPress sure acts dumb and silly at times! 😉
Sure sweetie, take your time! You are gonna love it!❤️
