Love Yourself Today!

Hey Everyone! I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend!

It’s time to kill the “Monday Blues” with some Real Talk and SELF-LOVE!
Well, after what I’ve experienced in the past few days (the WP follow-unfollow mess up) – I really really needed something that’s encouraging and stimulating, and what better than a “talk” on LOVIN’ YOURSELF?

That’s right folks – SELF-LOVE! The kind of LOVE where you believe in yourself and your potency, no matter what the World thinks and feels. The LOVE where what matters is your confidence in your abilities. The LOVE, where you realize that all the hardships that you are currently facing, are an inevitable part of life, and the best you can do is face them “head on” and LEARN something out of it.
I’m talking about the LOVE where you stop being your own “critic” and start “appreciating” what you’ve achieved and how far you’ve come in life. It’s the kind of LOVE, where you are “mindful” of what you are thinking, feeling and saying as often as you possibly can, and focus “more” on yourself and not on the perception of others for you. It’s the LOVE where you unburden yourself of “toxicity” in your life. Remember, if it isn’t nourishing your mind, body, or soul – it’s not worth it!

5 Powerful Affirmations for Happiness

Hey Everyone! Happy FRIYAY y’all!

It is Real Talk time! Well my people, it is a known fact that our happiness is determined by our attitude and our perspective towards life. Buddha said it best – “What you think you become. What you feel you attract. What you imagine you create.” Yes!!!! The key to abiding happiness lies within us – in our words, our thoughts and our point of view – and positive affirmations offer an ideal way in which to use your words positively, to create change in your life. Plus, who minds a little pampering and what’s better than self-induced happiness and readiness?

Here are five daily positive affirmations (that are my absolute favorites) to help you invite more joy, peace, happiness and love into your life –

No Means YES!

iScriblr_motivation

They said I couldn't do it,
that I did not have it in me.
Stripping me of my free-will,
denying me any courtesy.

Doubting my every advance,
they thought that I was prodigal.
Underestimating my will-power,
they mistook me for a non-radical.

Rebuffing my desire to excel,
they laughed at my ambitious aspirations.
Believing in my certain failure,
they mocked at my pristine prominence.

Opposing my every insightful debate,
they belittled my confidence.
Rejecting all my appeals for a better life,
they tried-and-tested my tolerance.

"Rising like a phoenix from the ashes,"
I yet out-lasted and out-wore every impediment.
Contradicting this perfidious-treacherous world,
I survived, I excelled, I am self-sufficient.

No denial, no disapproval, no refutation
can ever bring me down,
Traversing all the high and lows,
combating life's endeavors and conflicts, proudly I wear my crown!

13 Reasons Why I’m Thankful

Gratitude means thankfulness, noticing simple pleasures and acknowledging everything that you draw. It means that you are content with what you have and appreciate and value the quality of your life, without any complaints. Being thankful shifts your focus from what is lacking in your life to the abundance that is already present. It means learning to live your life as if everything were a miracle, and being aware on a continuous basis of how much you’ve been given. In short, it means that you say “Thank You” often and always!

Stop Letting Others Define You

People judge! They will always try to define you and put you in a box basis their own assessment and perception of you (doesn’t matter what authenticity the perception holds!) You may be defined basis your race, gender, weight, the way you dress, your social status, your sexuality, your friends (Heck! Even on basis of what you eat!) It is hard to live your best lives, when “best” is defined by someone else! Constant nay-sayers, consistent cynics, ceaseless criticism – they have many names and wear a many masks!

My 10 Favorite Quotes

Happy Monday everyone! (Umm.. Disregarding the “Monday Blues” obviously!)

Doubtlessly referring to inspirational quotes has always resonated with me. No matter how pleasing or awful my day has been, I always come back home to Instagram and Pinterest – for some inspiring words and motivational quotes (to be instantly uplifted!) It is interesting to know that “words” have so much power and fuel in them! From a “discouraged-pessimistic state of mind” to a “cheerful-motivated mood” – WORDS, for sure are magical and healing in their own ways!

“Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.”
― Patrick RothfussThe Name of the Wind

Here are some of the quotes that have been inspiring me lately. I hope they galvanize you too!

Stepping Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Hey Everyone! I hope y’all are having a great day! It’s time for some Real Talk!

Each of us have our own “comfort zone” which, more than an actual place is an emotional-psychological safe haven involving our daily habits and routine. Being in our comfort zone implies protection and security, minimizing any risks and stress. It’s a warm, safe cocoon where we are happily existing, distant enough from any mishap or blunder. When we step outside of our comfort zone, we’re taking a risk and opening ourselves up to the possibility of stress and anxiety! (Well, who wants that now?) As humans, we are creatures of comfort and taking risks is a menace that we are not well equipped to handle. It is too much of an effort and labor, something that we usually shy away from!

Stop Justifying Your Feelings

iScriblr_justify

Ah, justifications! Too many, too little, who knows? Let’s be honest folks – We’ve all given justifications in our lifetime – sometimes necessary and required but most of the times, we go overboard with it, disproportionately, superfluously. Justification (in simple terms) means – explaining who you are, why you are who you are, why you believe what you believe, why you did what you did and why you said what you said. In short, it is clarifying and defining why and how you live! *shakes head in disappointment*
