Lucky Cat Ramen

Hey everyone! I hope y’all are doing great!

Here we go again folks – I am back with my sightseeing antics and reviews on restaurants and eating joints! *woot woot*
Well, when you are restricted to the confines of your own town (thanks to my Huz’s busy work schedule), and an “enjoyable-extended vacation” seems like a far sight, you make the best of what you’ve got by canvassing the city, “hunting” down the “popular” places to eat – one at time! *a foodie’s gotta do what she gotta do*

Our exploration of the town got us to a “small wonder” called – Lucky Cat Ramen – one of the best “ramen” spots here in Memphis!
Brain-child of Zach Nicholson and Sarah Pardee, the success of Lucky Cat can be doubtlessly credited to the delectable ramen bowls that range from traditional to creative – Tan Tan, Miso Pork, Yuzu Veggie. Starting just as a humble food truck initially, to graduating to a regular “pop-up” at City & State, Lucky Cat got so famous with time, that the owners eventually decided to go all “brick and mortar! “(News flash – Their new permanent “upscale” restaurant is coming up in Crosstown Concourse building, soonish!)
Currently functioning out of 247 Cooper Street, Memphis, this was a discovery that me and my Huz would return back to time and again! *slurp*

Food/Drinks ordered – 2 bowls of YUZU VEGGIE  and  2 fully loaded VEGGIE BAO BUNS.

YUZU VEGGIE – consisting of – lemongrass-ginger vegetable broth with napa (noodles), daikon (winter radish), carrot, negi (a Japanese variety of onion), ajitama (soft-boiled egg), mayu (black garlic oil), kikurage (a mushroom with a jelly like consistency), toasted nori (sheet of edible seaweed) and yuzu (a citrus fruit).

Overall, it was an amazing experience with both VEGGIE BAO and YUZU VEGGIE tasting delightfully delicious! The broth was full of flavor and the soft-boiled-marinated eggs aka “ajitama” were outta this world! It really is a complete meal in a bowl, with huge enough portions to satiate your hunger. With matchless quality and unequaled authenticity of the ramen bowls – it is a perfect “little” place to relish good food and have a great time. The staff is super courteous and pretty knowledgeable about the menu options and generously spend time on you, making sure that you get want you want. They even crafted a special “VEGGIE BAO” for us! *aww*
This place is certainly by far the BEST ramen place in town and we can’t wait for the full “bedecked” restaurant to arrive at Crosstown!

Note – Since you order and pay first before you get your meal, so if you want a side of chili-oil make sure you order it at the front, because it $1. Their menu changes every week, but they have some bowls that don’t rotate! (So you gotta be on a watch-out for your favorites!)
Open from Wednesday through Sunday – 5pm to 9pm with “BYOB”as an option, this place has more to offer than just a regular bowl of your “college ramen!”

  1. I lived in Memphis decades ago. If they have a decent noodle joint, then it has changed a lot. When I was there, it was barbecue and Elvis all the way.

    1. Ikr! Thank God! 🙂
Things are changing for sure, slowly, gradually – even though most of the “distinguished” eating joints are still old school!

  2. Nice to read this even for an old fella in English Midlands. Ill try to keep pace with the “Americanisms”, which fascinate me. (*woot woot*? & “hit me up”) Writing for an international readership there is a case for sub-titles. *JOKE* Keep doing it. Chris T.

    1. Hahaha.. I reckon! But this is what makes WP all the more interesting, eh? 😉

Thank you so much for stopping by, appreciate it!❤

    1. Oh my, really!!! (Though I can totally relate to it! #beenThereDoneThat!) 😉 😛

Thanks for stopping by sweetie! Hugs!❤

      1. Whew! Thanks for your sense of humor! I have this goofy backwards way of expressing enthusiasm! I’m really *glad* you have this wonderful restaurant! Wish I did, too. Great review. I love reading about food.

  3. Wow! That food looks amazing! Especially the Bao Buns. Hubby and I are definitely foodies. He likes to scout out restaurants for us to try every time we travel. He’s researching Denver right now.

  4. I’ve never been a fan ramen, though I love shatiaki noodles. I love making a variety of interesting dishes with them.

      1. Oh wow, that’s nice! I have just had them once and they for sure tasted yum!❤

May be I’ll find a place here in Memphis that serves them! Will be on the look out.

        1. 😊 If you find a place that serves them you’ll have to let me know how they are!😉

P.S. Maybe it’s an oddball question, but I’m looking to host my WordPress account through bluehost and I was debating if the domain name ArtsyChicCreations really suits the content of my blog. A friend of mine that I work with likes it, but doesn’t follow the content regularly. What do you think?

          1. You bet, I sure will! 😉

About the domain name – I personally would recommend changing/evolving it into something that your “site/content” deals with (is about) – May be something on the lines of positivism/inspiration/motivation that you write about. Though, tbh, there is nothing “technically” wrong with “ArtsyChicCreations.”

          2. I agree I’ve been thinking along the same lines of including something full of positivism/inspiration/motivation. Though every name I come up with seems to be taken already. My other half says that also changing it can make it harder for people to find me.

          3. About that – you can personally mark everyone (all your followers) a message/comment about the same, informing them about the change of name plus once you have decided on changing the name, you can also make a post about it on your blog telling people about your new name. I am sure, there are ways to smoothen the entire migration process.

          4. Thank you so much! I’m definitely new to this process and appreciate the support and advice! 🙂

          5. No worries at all – I am happy to be of help! I know, the whole migration thing can be tricky and confusing. 😉

PS – Feel free to ask any questions, anytime! 🙂

          6. Aww, thank you so much for your time, help, and understanding! It definitely means a lot! 🙂

          7. Or TheSunshineArtist (I’ve been obsessed with sunshine as a theme of feeling happy and positive recently).

          8. My vote is for – TheSunshineArtist – its sounds more positive and in-syn with your blog theme! 🙂

          9. 🙂 My goal is to hopefully transition over the next week. I’m trying to decide on a Bluehost plan for WordPress.

          10. 🙂 Thank you, I’m not sure which plan is best for just trying to jump to the next level of growth. I want to be able to monetize a little bit through things like Amazon Associates.

          11. I get that – I think, you should check with your Huz about it coz I’m sure he would give you a much wiser advise about the plans and their benefits in the longer run.

          12. Though at the price for a year, it might be less of a hastle just to go directly through wordpress.

          13. It’s totally on where you want to see your site in coming years. Though – I’ve seen people on WordPress blogging for 5-7 years with around 10K followers!

          14. Choice plus makes more sense as it’s of the same price ($5.45) as plus but with better/superior benefits.

    1. It’s my favorite too and I am so happy to have found a place where I could get it everyday! 😉

      Thanks love!❤

  5. Finding new restaurants can be so much fun! Great food shots! You’re a much better photographer than you give yourself credit for.
